Sports Fun
Ages 4-6
Your child will play and have fun as we teach skills in a variety of sports and activities to help him/her gain confidence and develop large and fine motor skills that will help foster the love of the game.
Sports & Gymnastics
Ages 3-5
Burn some energy and have fun! The first 30 minutes will be gymnastics with tumbling, trampoline and bar work. The next 30 minutes different sports like basketball, soccer, t-ball, volleyball and floor hockey will be played. Emphasis is on having fun in a non-competitive enviornment, while learning how to play as a team and improving individual sports and gymnastics skills.

Sports of All Sorts
Grades 1-3
Each week we will play a different sport and have fun while staying active after school. We will play our favorite sports camp and gym class games such as dodgeball, gaga, floor hockey, kickball, bowling, basketball, and so much more. This is a non-competitive class that focuses on physical activity while improving individual skills.
Sports Management
Ages Grades 3-5
In this class we will learn and work with the numbers behind sports! We will look at stats, watch games recent and old, and even have genuine discussions. We will dissect each sport down too its core. Great for athletes of all sports!

Come join us for some high quality and fun training from our very own Sports Coordinator, Alex Brodell. Alex is a Safe Sport Certified volleyball coach with 6 years of coaching and 11 years of playing experience. In this clinic, players will work on the basic skills such as passing, setting, working as a team, and general volleyball IQ. No prior experience needed!
Volleyball
Grades 2-4
This co-ed program focuses on learning and improving skills such as passing, setting, and serving. Since our volleyball program is divided into age groups, it’s great for beginners as well as an excellent off-season training class for competitive players.

Youth Basketball
The NSYMCA offers a variety of skill levels for those that interested in learning the fundmentals of the sport of basketball or looking to take their game to the next level.
NSYMCA Youth Basketball League
Grades K-8th
Participants in this league will develop their basketball skills through quality instruction, game experience and player development.
In this league, boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of basketball, good sportsmanship and teamwork. This program takes place 2 days per week. Practices are held on Tuesdays and games are held on Saturdays.
Participants have the chance to play real games with referees and continual coaching. The participants will be divided into teams and given a jersey.
We ask that all participants attend both days each week. All practices and games are held at the NSYMCA.
Our goal for the program is to teach the participants—of any experience level—the fundamentals of basketball. Your children will learn shooting, dribbling, passing, defense, positioning, teamwork and sportsmanship in a non-competitive environment. Our focus is not on wins and loses but instead having fun.
Basketball Skills & Drills
Grades 1-5
Basketball Skills & Drills introduces the game of basketball in a safe and fun environment through skill-building activities and non-traditional games. The program emphasizes teamwork and good sportsmanship while building confidence and skills. Players will learn and strengthen the basic skills of the sport like ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding, defense and more. Each session will also feature a wide variety of more than 30 innovative and exciting activities including: around the world shooting, hot lava dribble, dribble knock out and money ball. Martial Arts
4- adults
Martial arts are ancient methods of training your mind, martial arts body and spirit to act as one. Martial arts practitioners strive for harmony, but also learn effective self-defense techniques. Students will be empowered to gain a greater sence of self respect, self discipline and confidence.
Lil' Dragons
Developed in Japan, karate is a method of defending oneself without the use of weapons, by striking sensitive ares on the attacker's body with the hands, elbows, knees or feet. Karate classes are taught by instructors from an outside Martial Arts Studio. Lil'Dragons is available for Preschool to Kindergarten children.

Today's Active Adults are more health conscious than ever before. The YMCA offers Active Adults the opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle, healthy relationships and a positive outlook on life. Adult Racquetball
The North Suburban YMCA is pleased to have Howie Robins on staff to serve you. As an enthusiastic and skilled A-level player and instructor, Howie has played racquetball for over 35 years. He is an AmPRO Certified Advanced Instructor and a member of the United States Racquetball Association. Howie is also on the Team Head USA player staff. Members can make reservations online at www.nsymca.org for free open court time.

Compete against new competition as we take our league to the next level. In this challenge you will compete against other clubs around the area. All competitions will be held at the NSYMCA courts.
