Artist Statement:

I am a representational painter striving to create work that is complex and richly rewarding. I invite the viewer to explore layers of color and delve deep into the surface of the painting in a dance of discovery. I am inspired by the changing visual fragments of everyday life. My work captures the fleeting moments of human interactions, as played- out in private and public spaces. These transitory moments are the subjects that fuel my ongoing inquiry into the visual dialogue I passionately explore in my work. I want to create the illusion of deep space by building layers of shapes, color and carefully orchestrated light and shadows.

As a former kindergarten to college level art educator, I have a broad background in art history and theory, the technical skill and knowledge to utilize various artist media, plus the passion, commitment and determination to find my place in the dynamic art world of today.
