About the Artist
Chicago-based artist Priscilla Huang works primarily in oils, painting both in her studio and outdoors. Her work explores and captures the essence of the natural world, often in form of flora. Huang was born in Taiwan and immigrated to the United States with her family as a teenager. A self-taught artist, she left behind 30 years in the corporate world as a financial professional, deciding to pursue the challenge of painting full-time. She honed her skills with studies at the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art and workshops with various renowned artists such as Derek Penix, Jennifer McChristian, Ingrid Christensen, and Angus Wilson, and coaching with Stefan Baumann. Her works have been juried in several local and online exhibitions and received special recognition. Her recent work has been accepted into the American Impressionist Society’s 2024 online exhibition. She has exhibited widely in her home city including Oak Park Library, Skokie Public Library, Palette and Chisel Academy of Art, Bridgeport Art Center, Fulton Collective, Warrenville Historical Society in Warrenville, IL, Elmhurst Museum of Art in Elmhurst, IL, Art Ramble in St. Charles, IL, South Shore Arts in Munster, IN, ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, MI.
