Alex Klitz

Camp Program Administrator and Registrar

Alex has been with the NSYMCA for over 2 years now, working as a swim instructor in our aquatics department before moving up to join our camp team. She formerly spent 6 years working in higher education as an English Professor, DEI Coordinator, and Administrator. She has a passion for education and experience working with an extremely diverse background of students with a wide range of needs. She has a MAT in Secondary Education.

Alex’s goal at the NSYMCA is to help foster an inclusive community where everyone, regardless of background, can feel welcome. Alex grew up in the Rockford, IL YMCA and sought out our community when she moved to the north suburbs because of the Y’s reputation as a safe place for everyone.

Alex’s main responsibilities with summer camp will be supporting families with exceptional customer service, registration, and support. Additionally, Alex will be using her skills as an educator to help train new staff and help run our NEW Craft-tastic! Camp sessions.

In her free time, Alex likes to write, crochet, and spend time with her husband, Sudu, and her two sons, Aiden and Max.!
