About Maddie Sadlowski-Van Horn
Born in Wyomissing, PA. I have spent most of my life in Glen Ellyn IL and now live in the NW Suburbs. My formal Education began in High School. I pursued a Degree in Painting and received my Bachelor's from the University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana. Furthered my Education in Printmaking and Illustration from the Academy of Art in Chicago. Completed many public Murals, have shown in a couple of Galleries, and have been commissioned to render Custom Artwork and Portraits.
Artist Statement
My inspiration for my work is nature itself. The feelings I have towards it, which I record with photographs I take myself. Something intrigues me inside about the beauty and mystery in nature, knowing it is the Creator's handiwork! Using my strong drawing skills and Oil paint I work the “entire canvas”, constantly contrasting light to dark forms, forward to recessed in order to get a balanced Composition. My love and talent for color is eminent. Constantly drawing out the most seductive colors!
