Group Photographers
Artist Statement
Chicagoland in Photography is a group of photographers who have been meeting for the past six years to develop their photography skills and techniques. Each of the participants has their own unique perspective on photographing and post processing the photographs. The group meets weekly to photograph a specified Chicago area location, landmark or activity. Each of the individuals brings their perspective to the subject, resulting in many interpretations of the assigned subject. On alternate weeks, the group has been meeting via Zoom, to review the prior week’s assignment including comments and critiques of the individual images.
This display, at the YMCA, highlights various Chicago area locations and the individual interpretations of them. Contact information for each photographer is provided for each image. Viewers are encouraged to contact the individual photographer to engage in discussion of the subject matter.
This group is open to all who are interested in photography. The two requirements are to be actively interested in photography and to have a camera, with which to take pictures. Information on registration can be found at Registration, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Northwestern University: School of Professional Studies | Northwestern University.
