Videographer/Photographer Intern

Job Type: Internship (3-6 months)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Videographer/Photography Intern

Pictures speak a thousand words. A good quality picture or video can tell you a complete story. If this passionate individual sounds like you, then we have your dream internship! The North Suburban YMCA is seeking an intern for the Marketing Department. You will gain valuable professional experience working in a non-profit environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. He/she will be responsible for daily photography & video projects
  2. Will involve interactions with our members, staff and other duties related to this internship.
  3. Must be a creative self-starter but also take direction in accordance to what the Marketing Director is looking for
  4. Collaborate with our In-house Graphic Designer, and other departmental staff
  5. Your work will be proudly displayed in our Social Media sites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube) and our web site.
  6. Might be required to stage/Direct photo-shoots if possible.
  7. Might require attendance to certain Y-Events.
  8. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT OR BORROWED EQUIPMENT FROM YOUR SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION

Required Skills

  1. Preferably Junior or Senior standing at a College/University or Recent Graduate
  2. Use of DSLR Cameras.
  3. Use of Video Cameras. (Mid to Professional Level)
  4. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After Effects.
  5. Excellent knowledge of proper Video and Photography (Example: Rule of thirds)
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Ability to organize and prioritize / good time-management skills
  8. Patience and attention to detail, even on repetitive tasks.
  9. Basic to advanced knowledge of Video editing
  10. Ability to interact with staff, members and guest of the NSYMCA.

Motion Graphic/Video Editing Intern

Job Type: Internship (3-6 months)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Motion Graphics/Video Editing Intern

As an Intern of the North Suburban YMCA you will have the chance to work and be hands-on in a variety of projects that will communicate not only with our community but with internal communications with our members! As a non-profit organization, you will also be a part of a mission that is about giving back to our community.

It is the perfect opportunity to get your hands dirty in your field.

Professional Skill Building:

  1. Learn to translate Brand Guidelines and develop the skills to properly break them.
  2. Learn to process and translate Project Briefs to develop a project
  3. Learn to self-start Storyboards to plan and organize your project.
  4. Learn to work with other teammates and internal clients
  5. You will learn and develop Effective planning techniques, organizational skills and prioritize workloads (Time and Project Management)
  6. You will Participate in creative meetings with the Marketing Director and other stakeholders to meet internal and external communications.
  7. Learn to use Creative Freedom within Brand Paramiters and Project Requirements
  8. Be able to experiement with many different styles as long as it meets Project Requirements and Brand Guidelines.

Requirements

  1. Preferably Junior or Senior standing at a College/University or Recent Graduate
  2. Passion for Visual Storytelling
  3. Render video footage as part of the production process
  4. Video Editing
  5. Experience with Full video production process, from pre-production to post
  6. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects, Media Encoder.
  7. Ability to brainstorm and storyboard creative video concepts
  8. Ability to take direction and be a self-starter.
  9. Effective editing skills
  10. Ability to continue a project/template already in production.
  11. Strong Project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  12. Basic to advanced knowledge of Video editing
  13. Ability to interact with staff, members and guest of the NSYMCA.
  14. Might require attendance to certain Y-Events.
  15. Must have own compatible laptop.

  1. You will learn how to translate Project Briefs and Brand Guidelines and convert them into a creative design that uses a combination of graphics, color and fonts.
  2. You will learn to how follow Brand Guidelines, work within those parameters and learn to break them accordingly.
  3. You will learn and develop Effective planning techniques, organizational skills and prioritize workloads (Time and Project Management)
  4. You will also learn to work directly with teammates and internal clients to deliver your finished deliverable. (Self-Starting Skills and Independance)
  5. You may participate in creative meetings with the Marketing Director to discuss internal and external communications.
  6. Might require to attend certain Y-Events.
  7. Must have own compatible laptop.
