I started coming to the North Suburban Y as a mom who came to swim and workout, and dropped my kids off at the Kidzone. My kids loved it so much, it wasn’t long before they begged me to go to the Y! Soon after that, I joined the pool teaching staff. My daughter was born after I joined the staff, so she has been a Y Kid ever since she was six weeks old.

When I started teaching swim classes at the Y, I instantly fell in love with all the kids. There’s a family atmosphere that surrounds you. When talking to other parents at my kids’ school, I always recommend the Y because of our Y family spirit. Hopefully someday, my kids will be bringing their children here and inviting me to watch them as they take their first dive in the pool!
