Flag Football

FALL 1 & SPRING
This is an instructional program to learn the basics of football including passing, positions and running plays. Teamwork and good sportsmanship will be stressed. This program is taught by former area high school and college football players.

Tumbling

Grades 5-8

Work on the basics of tumbling needed for cheerleading or extra time for gymnastics. Cartwheels, round offs, walkovers and handsprings will be taught in a progressive manner. This class is open to all cheerleaders and gymnasts who want more tumbling time.

Volleyball

This co-ed program focuses on learning and improving skills such as passing, setting and
serving. Our volleyball program is divided into age groups that enable the beginner to learn the sport as well as is excellent off-season training class for those interested in competitive volleyball. Our new volleyball coach is Randy Satovitz.

Developmental Basketball League

Grades K-8th

November 14, 2015- March 5, 2016

NSYMCA Developmental Basketball League believes character developemtn, focusing on the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, is an essential element of our sports programs. Participants will receive help in developing their skills through quiality instruction, game experience and player development.

Our league is designed for boys and girls to learn the fundamentals of basketball, good sportsmanship, teamwork and rules of the game. Players will be placed on teams, formed after 2 weeks of evaluations. Practices will develop and build skills. Teams will participate in regular season games followed by playoffs. All participants will receive a jersey included in the class fee plus a trophy at the end of the season.

Basketball Skills Training

Basketball Skills Training focuses on strengthening basic basketball skills through ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding, defense, transition play and positions. Along with emphasizing teamwork, good sportsmanship and hard work. This program is a great way to get your skills to the next level.

Kindergarten:
Basic dribbling, passing and shooting skills will be introduced.

1st - 2nd Grade:
Emphasis will be on improving basic skills and implementing proper technique.

3rd - 8th Grade:
More advanced basketball skills will be taught as well as the importance of developing confidence. and game knowledge.

GRADES 1-3
Each week we will play a different sport and have fun while staying active after school. We will play our favorite sports camp and gym class games such as dodgeball, gaga, floor hockey, kickball, bowling basketball, and so much more.This is a non-competitive class that focuses on physical activity while improving individual skills.

Little Athletes

AGES 3-4
Your child will play and have fun as we teach skills in a variety of sports and activities to help him/her gain confidence and develop large and fine motor skills that will help foster the love of the game.

Sports and Gymnastics

AGES 5-6YRS

Burn some energy and have fun! The first 30 minutes will be gymnastics with tumbling, trampoline and bar work. The next 30 minutes different sports like basketball, soccer, t-ball, volleyball and floor hockey will be played. Emphasis is on having fun in a non-competitive environment while learning how to play as a team and improving individual sports and gymnastics skills.
