BRICKS FOR KIDS AFTER-SCHOOL
Elementary-aged students work in pairs in
our hands-on classes, using Lego Bricks
and our structured lesson plans to explore
science, history, math, geography, and
vocabulary. Students work to build a new
mechanized model each week.
CHEF’S-IN-TRAINING, AFTERSCHOOL COOKING WITH NSCA
A Cooking Classes by North Shore Cooking
Academy, these hands-on classes are the
perfect place for children to learn lifelong
artistic, creative, and sometimes surprising,
cooking skills. Students taste what they
make at the end of class and will receive a
book with the recipes they created at the
completion of the course. Note: Ingredients may
include dairy, egg, wheat, soy, and products
that were manufactured in a facility that
also produces nut products.
Are you ready to amaze all of your friends? Now is your chance, as you learn to do
incredible magic with the “Magic Team of Gary Kantor”! This one-day workshop will
teach children how to perform amazing magic tricks. The tricks are designed to be
perfect for all ages. Following the class, the children will be putting on shows and
amazing audiences with their new magical skills. Each class teaches new tricks, so be
sure to sign up for multiple classes. In addition to just learning the tricks, children will
be given their very own magic kit to take home.
2/3's Enrichment Classes
Our two- and three-year-old preschool
education classes will help your
preschooler take a step forward. We focus
on self-awareness, social development,
and gross and fine motor skills in a
structured, nurturing learning environment.
Depending on the day, each class is
combined with a special skill such as
gymnastics, dance/movement, and art.
4/5's Enrichment Classes
Our four- and five-year-old preschool
education classes will help prepare your
child for a successful and rewarding
transition into kindergarten. We will focus
on pre-reading, pre-writing, number skills,
advanced social interaction concepts, and
character development. Depending on the
day, each class is combined with a special
skill such as gymnastics, dance/movement,
art, swim lessons, and digital media.
Wonders of Science
“How does that work, mommy?” “Why does it
do that?” “What makes it go?” If this sounds
familiar, our hands-on science experiments
will be a great outlet for your child’s natural
curiosity. This class introduces children to a
variety of basic scientific concepts, helping to
foster reasoning, problem-solving skills, and a
love of learning.
Fun with Numbers/Math
An introduction to all things numbers.
Children will be immersed in numbers and
how they work. Number formation skills will
be addressed, as well as numerous math
concepts to encourage children to love the
idea of math and all it has to offer.
Give your child the keys to reading success. Reading
Rookies uses fun, multisensory instruction, games,
crafts, and stories to build children’s letter and
sound knowledge. Each weekly lesson focuses on
2–3 letters. The lessons will ignite your child’s
love for reading while increasing their ability to
hear, identify, and manipulate individual sounds.
There is something for every learning style in this
multisensory course, ensuring that your child will
learn, thrive, and have fun!
Literacy With Art
This class uses storytelling and engaging art
activities to teach children the basics of early
literacy, from decoding printed words into
sounds to appreciating what they read and
making literary connections. Our goal is for each
child to develop their expressive and reflective
story skills, leading to verbal creativity and a
lifelong love of reading.
