Sponsors and Donations Needed for Auction & Taste


Planning has begun for the 11th Annual Ken and Alta Thiel Strong Kids Dinner! This year’s event will feature special mystery box prizes up for bid in both a Live and Silent Auction, a family-style meal prepared by Pinstripes of Northbrook, as well as a chance to win other epic prizes. A festive super hero theme will be the backdrop for the event, which attracted 400 local residents, business persons, and community leaders from throughout the Northern Suburbs.


The Strong Kids Dinner is the signature event of the North Suburban YMCA. It is our most important fundraiser, so sponsors and in-kind donations are critical to its success. Funds raised from the event help offset the cost of memberships and programs for children, families and adults because the NSYMCA believes that, within the limits of available funding, everyone should receive the help they need to reach their full potential.


Every dollar donated to the Y lifts the world around us, strengthening families and connecting our communities. Organizations that have already made a commitment to support the Dinner this year include 22nd Century Media, Visographic, DesPlaines Office Equipment, Pioneer Press, Hill & Stone Insurance, and Creative Marketing Associates among others.


Local businesses can also be our hero and play an important role in the Strong Kids Dinner through donations to the Silent or Live Auction, where attendees engage in lively mobile bidding. Donations of all kinds can help us raise funding, including:

  • Restaurant gift certificates
  • Spas and salon gift certificates
  • Jewelry items and jeweler gift certificates
  • Museums, theaters, theme parks and other entertainment venues
  • Collect and professional sports team tickets
  • Retail stores

The following items are always popular and generate a lot of interest from auction bidders along with attention to your business:

  • Small electronic items
  • Golf foursomes
  • Sports, theater or concert tickets
  • Restaurant certificates
  • Overnight hotel stays

 Many other important sponsorships are still available. Sponsors gain valuable exposure through recognition in NSYMCA program guides, email blasts, a listing in the event program, and on our website. Other sponsorship opportunities offer visibility through event collateral and all sponsorships include a minimum of two complimentary admissions to the event.
