This summer we are happy to have our 2018 Intern group work alongside with our amazing and hard-working North Suburban YMCA staff.

They have made great strides and a big impact on our organization. We wish them success as they continue to finish their studies at their respected schools.

Learn more about them below.

Quinton Worthy

Videographer/Photography Intern

My name is Quinton Worthy and I am a senior attending Huntington University earning my Bachelor’s degree in film production.

What caught my interest to intern at the Y is the challenge of stepping outside of my comfort zone and creating a different style of content from what I am normally used to. Working diligently to be constantly creative.

My favorite thing about the Y so far is interacting with the campers and participating in the activities with them.

My future goals are to pursue a career as a camera operator on big production movie sets and to have my own production company consisting of a team of filmmakers traveling the world creating stories for those who have one to tell.

Check out more of Q's work.

Marrissa Cole

Motion Graphics/Photography/Video Editing Intern

Marrissa is a senior from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is on track to graduate in December 2018 with a bachelor of arts in television with a minor in Spanish. During her internship at NSYMCA, she was able to enhance her film and photography immensely. Her favorite part of the internship was learning how to implement motion graphics in her work and working alongside an amazing group of people. For the future, she plans on obtaining her masters in producing. With that, she hopes to own her own film production company where she can write and produce her own creative and innovative content.

Daniel Hu

Marketing Intern

Hey guys, I'm Daniel, the marketing intern here at the Y. I currently attend UCLA, and will be entering my third year as an economics major w/ minor in statistics. Honestly, I'm not too sure what I'm going to do with this degree yet. Maybe accounting or finance, but hopefully I'll be able to land product management job at a big tech company sometime in the future, then open up a boba shop when I have enough capital lol. As a kid growing up in Northbrook since grade school, the Y has been a great community center for me, offering camps when I was younger, and a gym to ball in when I was in high school, so being able to come back for an internship here seemed like a great opportunity. I really enjoy the amount of discretion I have to accomplish tasks at this internship so far, being able to put my own personal spin on marketing efforts, ROI analysis, and scheduling. It's really an awesome working environment and I'm grateful I was able to get this opportunity this summer!

If anyone wants to offer me a multi-million dollar job out of college so I can open up that boba shop early, connect w/ me on Linked-In :)
